Our bespoke office was just over a year in the build and weren't we looking forward to moving in.
Since relocating to a larger warehouse to account for an expanding portfolio of products and clients, we set up a temporary office within the warehouse, a space eventually intended as a QC area and samples room. No windows, apart from a couple looking into the warehouse, no natural light, and no heating. To be honest it wasn't that bad; it had a comfortable cosiness about it.
Fast forward 7 months and you can now find us in a much different setting. A setting that has recently won the BCO (Bristish Council for Offices) award for the South West and Wales region, and we're proud to announce our cutting edge, eco HQ has been selected to be judged in the national awards - so fingers crossed.
Now, please forgive the self indulgent prose, we have taken the following extract from a case study written about the build, but it does accurately describe the new office in a way we couldn't.
Approaching from the West, the building stands out as a contemporary landmark - sleek, crisp and bold. From this approach, the building is a dark blue-black hue of slate shingles, balancing the reflection of light on the glazing. Turning to look back at the building from the entrance, and you will be met with a surprise; flashes of orange framing the gable and the solar fins around the windows - a playful touch reflecting the nature of the clients attitude to their company.
Entering the building, one is struck by the magnificence of the space... A bold design built around an open atrium space and first floor mezzanine and framed by a heavy-weight timber portal structure, a continuity of the rhythm of the gable form. The polished concrete floor brings an organic feel to the building, and upstairs the bold palette of greys, whites and wood is invigorated with more flashes of orange. Lining the central spine wall was an exceptional piece of joinery, beautiful birch ply cladding spanning the length and height of the building.
"The lighting scheme is crisp and contemporary, and a state of the art building control system regulates the temperature, air quality and automatically controls the windows. Everything is adjustable from a smart phone.
... A masterpiece of design and craftsmanship.
We're very proud that the new office has received such praise from a design, build and eco perspective, but it's the impression of the build and what it represents that really matters to us.
We create beautiful packaging that drives sales for our clients, and this building accurately represents the quality of our work, our team, and the effort that goes into delivering every project - no matter how big. From the initial brief, through to branding and graphic design, container design or selection, decoration and final delivery. Plus the on-going support we give to each client to smoothy manage the supply chain going forward.
It represents our values as creators and experts in the packaging field, and created a space where our pool of knowledge and creativity can thrive, pushing us to constantly evolve and push the boundaries of what can be achieved for our clients, many of which have won awards and recognition themselves. You can look at some of our case studies here.
Combined with our new branding and website developed over the last 10 months, we feel that we can now show you why we are the leading independent packaging specialist in the UK, we don't need to say, we can demonstrate it.
