Luxury health and beauty brand, ESPA, approached us to help improve the aesthetics of the 500ml jar used for several of their high-value bodycare products. They had already commissioned a bespoke lid, which they wanted to keep. So, after careful consideration of all the available options, we advised the only way to achieve a better aesthetic for the jar was to create a new, unique design
Working closely with ESPA, we designed a new 500ml jar incorporating a more angular shoulder that allowed a perfectly-flush finish with their bespoke lid, based on the original proportions to avoid unnecessary labelling costs. Two versions were created: one in amber using their existing labels, and the other, an acid-etched clear jar with hot foiling and screen printing decoration for their top of the range products.
Having produced two top quality jars, unique to the market, with strong appeal to their target audience in high-end retail establishments, like John Lewis, we achieved a 20% reduction in their production costs when compared with the previous jar.
